About Hoh Rain Forest

The Hoh Rain Forest is a temperate rain forest on the western side of Olympic National Park. Frequent rain supports a canopy of conifers and deciduous trees, with mosses and ferns covering many surfaces. Hanging growth on branches gives the forest its layered appearance. This scene follows a path beneath moss-covered limbs and past the fern-filled forest floor.

Ideas for coloring this scene

Choose several greens: yellow-green for hanging moss, deep green for shaded foliage, and a softer gray-green for distant trees. Add brown along the branches to keep their structure visible. A pale path will help guide the eye through the forest.
